Tampere Theatre Festival

18. August 

The Finnish Showcase in Tampere was a great experience. Now I have done it. I spoke about science, I spoke with Hypatia voice. It was so great feeling to go in front of  the audience, and  share a part of  the story with them. The guests had come from Portugal, Russia, Sweden...  The language was english.  We received good feedback. A spectator comment : "I am proud that the international festival guests will see that in Finland, women artists make such a content theater." It was a good start, we noticed that we are in the right way.

" We are, once again, on the threshold of something new."

Teacher
Hypatia explained the principles of philosophy and mathematics to her students,
many of whom came from a distance to hear her. She wanted to share her knowledge.
She was murdered as a witch. Stoned to death and then burned.
Can we bring these on stage?

About music

Jonathan Harvey, a new acquaintance, his music. Something timeless, weird but fascinating. It was great to find this composer. His music gives us new ideas...

The philosopher Plato wrote that general philosophical and mathematical truths lie quiesent in everyone´s mind, and anyone can find them from within by practising the faculty of thinking.

This is the first approach of the HYPATIA process, a contemporary theater project.
Through this blog you may follow the work and process of an upcoming play
called Hypatia, a monologue.

The premiere of the play will take place in the National Library of Finland,
in the Cupola Hall during autumn, 2012

This production is also participating with a demo in the Finnish Showcase event,
at the international Tampere Theatre Festival in august, 2012.
